Devotion for August 28, 2022

“He made the earth by His power, established the world by His wisdom, and stretched out heaven by His understanding” (Jeremiah 10:12).

When we talk about the mysteries of the Messiah in Creation, we need to grasp the concept that God made the world with wisdom. The verse from Jeremiah reminds us, everything God made, He made with wisdom. Everything that he made, he made with understanding. And that includes you.

This mystery from Creation is so crucial because so many times, the world, the flesh, and the enemy want to make us feel like we’re worthless. These outside influences want to make us feel stupid and make us feel like we have no value. The influences from the media, our wrongful desires, and Satan, the enemy, bombard us and make us feel like we can’t do anything exceptional in our lives. We feel like losers. There is so much judgment and negativity in the world.

You have to understand that you are one of God’s precious creations, which means He made you with wisdom. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the things he planned for us long ago (NLT).” Long ago, God created you with wisdom and understanding so you could be the person He wanted you to be and do what He’s called you to do.

The mystery of Creation and being created in wisdom by God (and in His image) means you don’t need to believe the lies the world and the media speak about you. You don’t need to believe that inner voice in your head that speaks lies over you.

You are precious in His sight. You are beautiful and unique. You must possess entirely this about yourself and believe it. Deuteronomy 26:18 reminds us that we are His “treasured people.” You are precious in God’s sight. He loves you! He created you with wisdom and understanding to love you!

But there’s more! Knowing God created you in wisdom is not merely for yourself. Knowing and believing this should translate into how you see other people around you. God made them in His image and likeness. Because of that, you need to value all people.

I don’t know about you, but others have hurt me. Their words can cut like a knife. Interestingly, God created the world using words. He spoke things into existence. Did you know that your words also create worlds? So, you must speak words of life, words of blessing, and words of truth over yourself and the people around you, because your words create worlds. Don’t be like the enemy speaking lies; instead, speak life.

Speaking words of life over yourself and others will bring blessing to yourself and many people you make contact with. Believing this truth will change your life as it has mine.

Prayer

Father, lead me each day in Your truth, and help me to speak that truth to others around me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Stay encouraged!
