2 Corinthians 4:16-18
16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer person is decaying, yet our inner person is being renewed day by day. 17 For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
As you move past your Christmas celebrations, all the taking down, the putting away, the asking now what? Think about others without judging who or what they do or deserve; (just some thoughts)
- Homeless
- Jailed
- Dying
- Addicted
- Lost in mental anguish
- Forgotten
- Away from home at war
- Held captive by others in human trafficking
- Victims of domestic abuse
- The children abandoned at borders
- The civilian lives torn apart by war and loss of all they had
- Those persecuted and martyred for Jesus’ name
Prayer
Lord, I think You for the many gifts you give me, especially the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus. Be with those who are hurting, who are lost, and who are in desperate need of Your mercy and grace.
