2 Peter 1:2-11 (Christian Standard Bible)

2 May grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 3 His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. 5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, 6 knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, 7 godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 The person who lacks these things is blind and shortsighted and has forgotten the cleansing from his past sins. 10 Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election, because if you do these things you will never stumble. 11 For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.

    Isaiah 6:1-8

1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne, and the hem of his robe filled the temple. 2 Seraphim were standing above him; they each had six wings: with two they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. 3 And one called to another:

    Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Armies;
his glory fills the whole earth.

4 The foundations of the doorways shook at the sound of their voices, and the temple was filled with smoke.

    5 Then I said:

Woe is me for I am ruined
because I am a man of unclean lips
and live among a people of unclean lips,
and because my eyes have seen the King,
    the Lord of Armies.

6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, and in his hand was a glowing coal that he had taken from the altar with tongs. 7 He touched my mouth with it and said: Now that this has touched your lips, your iniquity is removed and your sin is atoned for.

8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord asking:

    Who will I send?
    Who will go for us?
    I said:
    Here I am. Send me.

The Message is based upon Psalm 95:1-7. Read and see the invitations to “come”. The action words “let us sing”, “let us shout”, “extol Him”. May we find our joy in singing the gospel through our actions to others that they may too find peace in the Lord during these troubled days.

The world is experiencing frontline fatigue because of Covid-19. Even people who don’t have the infection are fatigued by the constant demands to stay safe. We have no normal life right now. But God brings the gospel of peace through His Word; the life of an ever-living Saviour who gifts us an overcoming faith. Our daily immersion in His Word to pray, praise and give thanks equip us to meet the daily challenges.

Matthew 25:1-13 tells of wise and foolish people that are preparing or not to be the eternal bride of Christ. The invitations to the wedding feast in heaven continue to go out through you. Let us continue to be His children and betrothed while there is still time.

On All Saints Day we remember those family members and friends who have passed into glory. Their works of service to Jesus are complete and their rest is forever. They modeled Jesus in their life as do we that we may share a new hope with those around us.

The world’s people model many others such as athletes, rock stars, hollywood actors and actresses and the like.

What kind of person do you want to be? A Jesus kind of person or an worldly kind of person?

On October 31, 1517 a man named Martin Luther proclaimed to his church that authority exists only in God’s word by grace through faith. He was condemned for heresy against the Pope and excommunicated. But Luther’s writings urging people to seek God in their lives for full forgiveness ignited a firestorm that exists today. Yet, each day is a day of re-formation by God in our lives as we live a gospel witness for others.
